Hi, my name is Shew. This game is my story, told in symbolism; how I lost my mind in search of meaning and purpose. Traverse through my past in a dark world filled with meaning. Master the art of dodging, and perfect your timing as you face increasingly challenging obstacles in this narrative driven, side-scroller, platformer.

I want to bring awareness to the toxicity of poor mental health. This game embodies the weight of depression, anxiety, and substance abuse, making it a deeply immersive experience.

Hand-Drawn Aesthetics: Every element, from characters to environments, is carefully hand-drawn to create a sense of organic, human touch.

Dark: The game's world is shrouded in darkness, with an emphasis on muted colors and atmospheric lighting that draws players in.

Symbolism and Meaning: Every detail, from the architecture to the characters' attire, is infused with symbolism and meaning, adding depth and complexity to the game's narrative.

gameplay & Mechanics

In this side-scroller platformer, players control a character navigating through increasingly challenging levels, with a focus on dodging and jumping mechanics. The twist? The character is fleeing from depression, represented by a relentless pursuer that gradually closes in.

Dodging and Jumping:

Players must time their jumps and dodges perfectly to avoid obstacles and pitfalls.

avoid cops:

If caught in the line of sight by a cop, player will be shipped off to school and must complete the school level before continuing the level they were on.

TV COMPANION:

The player's trusty TV companion can be activated to light up the dark path ahead, revealing hidden platforms, secrets, and safe routes.

slow-mo:

Players can activate a slow-motion ability, allowing them to dodge obstacles with greater precision and avoid Depression's attacks. However, this ability has a cool-down period, forcing players to strategically decide when to use it.
